R U OK DAY is often a day in the calendar that I find myself really looking forward to. This is mainly to do with the importance of the day itself but as these days have come and gone and I’ve found myself speaking at different places all over the country, it has started to become a significant day of reflection.

Last night was amazing! I’ve already written about the surprising nature of smaller, more community-focused events and how they tend to bring a very personal connection that I find extremely valuable as a speaker. The event I spoke at last night was the perfect example of this.

There was a time in my life where the prospect of spending 7 minutes up on stage speaking to a large group of people would have seemed like a truly impossible task. What would I talk about? What if I forgot my presentation? What if I look like an idiot?

What you see in the photo above is quite a stark contrast to the audiences I’ve been speaking to over the past month or so. This is not a huge auditorium, there’s no projector screens, no concierge, no professional lighting… And I absolutely love it!

My final thoughts on what has been an amazing few weeks at the Hands Across The Water, Future Of Leadership series. I always though this would be a significant series to be involved in from a proximity and exposure standpoint but in actuality, the true value to me has been the opportunity to grow as a speaker by learning from all of these amazing minds I’ve been lucky enough to share the stage with.

Brisbane! I’ve always loved this city and it’s fitting thane of my favourite events ever just went down here. Less about me in this one and more about what I’ve learned from a range of different speaking styles from all of the amazing presenters speaking at Future Of Leadership.

The series that nobody asked for, but you’re all getting. I wanted to do a slight recap of my time speaking at various Future Of Leadership conferences over the next couple of weeks. First up, Sydney and some self reflection featuring gratitude and some mild criticism.

Well I promised a few words on my time attempting my first ultra marathon over the weekend so I thought it would serve me best to do a bit of a play by play from start to finish.
